About Tom Foster
As the former spokesperson for MassMutual Retirement Services, Tom Foster has worked directly with financial advisors and employers to educate them about 401(k) and other qualified retirement savings plans.
His mission remains: help advisors and employers make retirement savings plans as effective as possible and therefore encourage more Americans to prepare for a comfortable retirement.
In any given year, Tom speaks with thousands of advisors, plan sponsors and industry professionals on new developments in the retirement plans marketplace, including products, legislation, regulation and compliance testing. His goal is to translate complex regulatory and product developments into terms that everyone can understand and leverage.
In 2007, he co-authored a book on practice management for advisors: To Sell or Not to Sell … Employer Retirement Plans. He has been quoted in the news media in a variety of publications - everything from the Wall Street Journal and New York Times to Financial Planning and Investment News, to name a few.
As a cancer survivor, Tom counts every day as a blessing and tries to reach out to others who are fighting their own battle with the disease. Not everyone is as fortunate as Tom to have the support of what he calls the “three Fs”: Family, Friends and Faith, which made it possible for him to conquer cancer.
When not traveling around the country speaking, he is following his favorite Boston sports teams, enjoying family and friends, and boating on Long Island Sound.
